This pre-alpha privacy notice explains the intended direction for Provenance. It is a working placeholder and must be reviewed before broad public launch.

Account activity, submitted evidence context, review decisions, contestations, audit events, and reputation signals may be stored so the project can explain who changed what, when, and why.

Public investigations and public evidence pages should only expose information that is safe to show publicly. Private workspaces, restricted documents, raw identity verification details, and internal trust signals require separate access controls and policy review.

Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential records, or material you are not authorized to share unless the relevant workspace, access rules, and review process clearly support it.

Policy gaps to resolve

  • Finalize retention, deletion, export, and account-closure rules.
  • Define how private workspace data differs from public investigation data.
  • Complete human/legal review before public beta.
